Solar Frontier to supply UK plant
Japanese module supplier Solar Frontier is to partner with German developer New Energy for the World (NEW) to deliver solar panels for an 8.1MW plant at Banwell in the UK's southwest.
Solar Frontier will provide the electronic components for the solar farm, including CIS modules, cables and inverters.
The project is expected to generate around 9.1GWh of electricity a year.
Construction work on the Somerset plant is expected to start in September 2014.
NEW believes the 40 acre site will create enough electricity to supply some 2,300 homes.
