Mosaic taps SunPower vet as COO
California’s Mosaic has made three important hires, including naming SunPower veteran Bruce Ledesma as its new chief operating officer, as the the peer-to-peer solar finance company enters what it hopes will be a rapid-growth phase.
Ledesma, with deep experience in both the solar and financial services sectors, was brought on “to scale Mosaic’s next growth cycle servicing home solar loans and crowdsourcing capital to finance them”, explains chief executive Dan Rosen.
Ledesma joins Mosaic from San Francisco-based private investment firm Roble Capital, where he was a co-founder; prior to that he worked for SunPower for seven years, as executive vice president and general counsel.
This spring, Oakland-based Mosaic expanded its business to begin offering solar loans to homeowners, partnered with RGS Energy and Enphase. It anticipates its loan volume exceeding $100m by the end of next year.
In the meantime, Mosaic will continue to maintain its original business of crowdsourcing finance for commercial rooftop PV projects.
Mosaic also announced on Thursday that it has hired SunRun fund manager Lara Perloff as its new controller, and Ken Hutchins, formerly of SunPower and Verengo veteran, as its new director of sales.
