Group subsidiaries JAG Energy and Kokusai Kogyo will build the plant on a 30.3-hectare site on the grounds of a high school in Natori, Miyagi prefecture.
Construction is scheduled to start at some point in early 2015.
Tokyo-based Japan Asia Group has yet to select a PV panel supplier for the project, a spokesperson tells Recharge.
In May 2013, the company revealed plans to develop 500MW of PV in Japan by 2015.
