The South Korean-owned group is developing the project in Kitsuki, Oita prefecture, as an independent power producer (IPP), a company spokesperson told Recharge this week at PV Japan 2014.
The installation is located on the east coast of the island of Kyushu, across Beppu Bay from Marubeni's 82MW solar plant. Q Cells supplied PV modules for the Marubeni project, Japan’s largest solar installation.
