CSun signs UK distribution deal

China Sunergy (CSun) has reached an agreement to supply UK distributor CPH Solar with its PV modules.

They did not reveal the terms of the deal.

Nanjing-based CSun will provide CPH Solar with an undisclosed number of panels from its manufacturing facility in Istanbul, Turkey.

CPH Solar — based in Chichester, West Sussex — will accumulate the solar panels at its warehouse for eventual sale throughout the UK.

CPH Solar praised CSun's Turkish-made modules, which are not subject to EU trade duties, for their bankability and competitive pricing.

"The supply agreement gives CPH Solar a great advantage to support projects of our existing clients in the UK," CPH Solar managing director Carsten Pump said in an online statement.

Nasdaq-listed CSun opened its 300MW Istanbul plant last year.

In May, it signed a licensing deal for module-integrated installation equipment from US mounting and grounding system provider Zep Solar.

The agreement covers CSun's production sites in Nanjing, Shanghai and Istanbul. It will use Zep Solar's patented Zep Groove for the frames of its monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar panels.

In April, CSun said it delivered 577.4MW of PV panels in 2013, up 47.7% from the preceding year, as Asia became its main source of demand.
