The order is part of the second phase of the National Solar Mission (NSM) in the country and is one of the largest under the nation's Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) policy.
The modules will be manufactured at Tata's factory in Bangalore, where the company recently announced a 60% increase in module production capacity. The facility now has 200MW of module and 180MW of cell capacity.
