By next April, the partners expect to finish building a 1.2MW project and a 1.7MW floating plant on two ponds in Hyogo prefecture, west of Osaka.

They plan to sell the electricity to regional utility Kansai Electric Power.

Kyocera and Century Tokyo are currently developing 92.8MW of solar together and have already connected 21.6MW to the grid.

They plan to secure the rights to develop 60MW of floating solar capacity at roughly 30 sites by the end of the current fiscal year, a Kyocera spokesperson tells Recharge.
