The solar plants in Cibola, Sandoval and Valencia counties will provide power for almost 9,000 homes when operational in late fourth quarter and cost about $48m to construct, according to the utility.
PNM also has eight solar facilities in operation. Total investment in solar by year end will be $269m.
Solar is now 1.8% of the energy mix at PNM, New Mexico's dominant electric utility.
