Plant construction will begin in April, with completion scheduled for the spring of 2010. Upon completion all Kyocera Tianjin Solar’s manufacturing operations will subsequently be transferred to the new facility.
The plant construction is being timed to coincide with an anticipated increase in the Kyocera’s production of solar cells which it believes will expand to 650MW by March, 2012.
Manufacturing modules mainly for the Asian market, production capacity at Kyocera Tianjin Solar will be gradually increased to 240MW by 2011 – a four-fold increase on present capacity.
