EGP first intends to build a 30MW standalone parabolic-trough plant in Sicily, according to Sauro Pasini, head of engineering and innovation research at Italian utility Enel.
Enel floated EGP on the Milan and Madrid stock exchanges in late 2010, and still holds a majority stake.
EGP is also advancing plans to install a 25MW CSP plant linked to a water desalination project in an as-yet-unidentified Mediterranean country.
