The factory will produce about 30,000 modules a year for deployment on small, off-grid systems across the region following an undisclosed joint investment by Netherlands-based solar specialist Ubbink and battery group Chloride Exide.

Ubbink, a subsidiary of Germany’s Centrotec Sustainable group, took 30 workers to the Netherlands to train them on the advanced PV production equipment used at the plant.
