The loan, offered conditionally in February, will support two new facilities in Oregon and expansion of the company’s existing California plant. SoloPower expects to reach an annual capacity of more than 400MW.

SoloPower makes copper, indium, gallium and diselenide (CIGS) PV modules that can be installed using less hardware.

The company uses a proprietary electroplating technology that it claims “provides near-100% materials utilisation in a low cost, roll-to-roll process”.
