Panasonic delivered almost 8,800 of its polycrystalline modules to a 2MW project in the cityof Tokushima on the Japanese island of Shikoku.
The plant, built by developer Miyazaki Solar Way on aformer waste disposal site in October, is due to start operating on 24 April.
An observation deck has been built next to the site toserve as a renewable energy educational centre.
