When complete, the projects will provide enough electricity for approximately 400,000 homes. Southern California Edison will purchase all the power under long-term contract.
MidAmerican Solar is unit of MidAmerican Energy Holdings, part of billionaire Warren Buffet’s extensive portfolio of investments.
It bought the projects in January from SunPower, which designed and developed them.
SunPower was also contracted by MidAmerican Solar to provide engineering, procurement and construction.
