The three companies will beginby building a 1.7MW plant in Tamana, Kumamoto prefecture, on the southernisland of Kyushu. Operations are scheduled to start in September.

JFE Engineering will overseethe design and construction of the project and Kyudenko will run and maintainit. Fukuoka-based Kyuko Lease will arrange funding by obtaining loans.

The three partners may jointly develop wind and geothermal projects in the future, says JFE Engineering.
