ReneSola's 12MW Japanese deal
ReneSola will ship 12MW of modules to Japanese commodities trading firm Silicon Bank from August and may deliver about 20MW more later in the year.
The PV modules will be used in rooftop and ground-based installations throughout Japan.
A ReneSola spokesman in Tokyo tells Recharge that the New York-listed company is still working out the details of the second shipment, which will probably be for 18-20MW of panels.
ReneSola, based in China’s Zhejiang province, recently restarted polysilicon production in its home market in anticipation that Beijing would impose punitive tariffs on imports of the material from the EU.
However, German government officials said this week that China has since scrapped plans to apply duties on polysilicon, which is used to make PV panels.
