Lastmonth, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) agreed to lend Uzbekistan $110m for a100MW solar project in Samarkand, with an additional $200m to come from state-run energy group Uzbekenergo and a national development fund.

Under amemorandum of understanding signed this week, Seoul agreed to provide technicalsupport for Tashkent’s efforts to select an ideal site in which to jointlybuild and run a test facility, Korean news agency Yonhap said.
