BDA is aiming to install rooftop solar power systems on more than 700,000 square metres of roofs of industrial buildings in the area.
The completed solar power systems are expected to generate some 22.7GWh of electricity a year, and a total of 568GWh of electricity in 25 years.
The project will receive 230m yuan of subsidy from the government.
The project is anticipated to relieve electricity shortfall in the industrial sector, especially during peak season, and save the use of about 8,000 tonnes of coal a year and cut about 21,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
