China's Sky Solar aims to build 3MW solar plant in Brazil

Sky Solar, a Beijing-headquartered solar photovoltaic (PV) system developer and independent power operation, has signed an agreement with the city of Sobral in Brazil to build a 3MW solar PV project.

Construction on the R$30m ($18m) plant should begin this year.

Last year, Ceará has created a solar-power fund, FIES, to support a feed-in tariff

It is unclear what kind of contract Sky Solar has obtained for selling the power, but estimates last year for solar projects in the region were between R$500/MWh and R$600/MWh.
