Tenaska Solar Ventures is developing the 150MW Imperial Solar Energy Center (ISEC) West in Imperial County, California. The project has a 25-year power purchase agreement with utility San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E), which is building a major transmission project to reach anticipated solar and wind projects in the Imperial Valley.
In connection with the project, French semiconductor substrate provider Soitec says it will build a San Diego factory capable of producing 200MW of concentrated PV (CPV) modules annually, employing about 450 people.
