A national feed-in tariff (FIT) introduced last year is driving solar growth, with the impact of the Fukushima nuclear disaster adding momentum.

Japan is expected to install at least 1.29GW of new photovoltaic solar capacity in 2011, according to new data from research firm Solarbuzz – up by about 35% compared to last year.
