The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) approved the 25-year contract between Abengoa unit Mojave Solar and utility Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) for the output of the parabolic-trough plant, forecast to be 617GWh a year.
The CPUC says an approved power-purchase agreement is “the final milestone” for the project. Construction began earlier this year, and commercial operation is due to start in July 2014.
