Welspun says it bid a tariff of 8,050 rupees ($147) per megawatt hour (MWh) – the second lowest of 12 qualified bidders in the 10 May reverse auction.
The subsidiary of the $3.6bn Welspun Group plans to build one PV project of 100MW and another of 25MW on barren land in the Malwa region of Madhya Pradesh, a project it expects to take 19 months from signing the price purchase agreement.
