Reacting to news of a Chinese government probe into the issue, Dow Corning chief executive Robert Hansen says the widening trade conflict would hit Michigan-based Hemlock Semiconductor – one of the world’s biggest producers of PV-grade polysilicon, in which Dow Corning is the biggest shareholder.

“This issue is serious and could impact Hemlock Semiconductor's ability to sell material to China – its largest market,” says Hansen.
