As recently as January AQT revealed plans to double its production capacity to 30MW, having only shipped its first modules in 2010.

However, the company has now hired Gerbsman Partners, a specialist firm that helps Silicon Valley start-ups to restructure with an eye towards selling off their intellectual property, according to press reports.

In addition to CIGS, AQT was tinkering with CZTS technology – which substitutes more-abundant zinc and tin for indium and gallium – but that it is not expected to make an impact in the global PV market for a decade or more.
