OCI today signed a memorandum of understanding with the Seoul Metropolitan City authorities to install solar on the rooftops of public buildings and at unused sites owned by the city.

All the capacity is scheduled to be in place by 2014 when it will power some 35,000 Seoul homes, says OCI.

OCI is talking to the city authorities about operating some of the capacity as a public welfare service for poorer residents, and the possibility of further solar installations at locations such as World Cup Park or Seoul’s bridges.
