Gehrlicher’s Istanbul-based joint venture, which it co-founded earlier this year alongside local player Merk Solar Enerji, has installed 540kW of monocrystalline modules supplied by Canadian Solar at Izmir airport.
With 90kW of the capacity installed off-grid at several radar stations, the remaining 450kW qualifies for Turkey’s YEK support scheme – the first PV project do to so, according to Canadian Solar.
