The Ministry of Finance issued a call for new applications from regional governments for subsidies for both rooftop and building-integrated solar projects.
The projects will receive a subsidy of 5.5 yuan ($0.88) per watt and must be completed by the end of June 2013, according to a statement on the ministry’s website.
Beijing has already approved 1.7GW of demonstration projects under its Golden Sun programme this year.
