The site at Vénissieux, near Lyon, was reconverted from an older Bosch factory producing rail-injection pumps, which was shut down last year due to declining demand.
By shifting production to PV modules, Bosch says it was able to retain 200 workers.
The plant will produce five different types of mono- and multi-crystalline modules, and is expected to reach its full 150MW capacity by July.
