According to the five-year plan for the solar industry published by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Beijing wants its leading polysilicon manufacturers to each reach 50,000 tonnes of production capacity by 2015, while top solar panel makers will have capacities of 5GW.
The plan did not disclose which companies it considers to be ‘leading’ in their field. China’s top polysilicon-maker GCL-Poly already had 46,000 tonnes of capacity last year.
