Clenergy wins 40MW Pakistan order

Clenergy has won a bid to provide 40MW of PV mountings to part of the 100MW flagship project at the Quaid-e-Azam Solar Energy Park in Bahawalpur, Pakistan.

Chinese PV manufacturer TBEA SunOasis will provide engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services, as well as being in charge of operation and maintenance (O&M) for the project.

Clenergy and TBEA SunOasis have jointly participated in utility-scale solar projects since 2011, but the 40MW in Pakistan marks the pairing's first cooperation beyond the borders of China, said Clenergy.

Part of the first phase of the planned 1GW PV development in Pakistan, the Quaid-e-Azam Solar Energy Park will spread over 6,500 acres.

The country's government and local administrators in Punjab are backing the project, Pakistan's first utility-scale array, which aims to help tackle the nation's 6GW capacity deficit.
