Work begins on Seneca PV arrays

Borrego Solar Systems has broken ground on the Seneca Solar Projects in southwestern California, 8.3MW (DC) of fixed-tilt, ground-mounted PV facilities owned by sPower.

The company has a 20-year agreement to sell electricity generated by the projects at a set price to Southern California Edison. The projects are all due to enter full commercial operation in the fourth quarter.

Borrego says it was able to “fast track” the financing stage for the projects thanks to sPower’s “depth of access” to low-cost capital and extensive development experience.
