The Brazilian Solar Power Association (Absolar) expects that Brazil will end 2017 with a 1GW solar PV operating capacity – including utility-scale and distributed generation – up from a current 80MW.

Despite this huge growth, however, the country is not on track to meet the government’s own long-term projections due to a failure to fully implement policies.
