Trina Solar missed its third-quarter shipment guidance and saw revenues tumble as the PV group felt the sting of falling demand in its domestic Chinese market.
Trina – the world’s biggest PV module supplier in 2015 – shipped 1.36GW in the July-September period, down from 1.66GW in the preceding quarter and 1.7GW in the same quarter a year earlier. Revenue fell to $741m, a 23% drop from Q2 2016, on a mixture of falling shipments and declining module prices.
