DOE to help fund NRG Energy's CCS project in South Texas
The US Energy Department will provide up to $154m in federal funds to NRG Energy towards construction of a 60 megawatt carbon capture and storage demonstration facility at its W.A. Parish Unit 7 in Thompsons, South Texas. NRG will match that amount.
