Alstom gets substation contract for 400MW offshore project

The order is for a 33/155kv substation, which Alstom describes as self-floating and self-installing.

It will be used to connect Windreich’s 400MW Meg 1 wind farm in the German North Sea, 45km north of the island of Borkum, which is due to be commissioned by the end of 2014.

MEG1 is Windreich’s second 400MW project in the German North Sea, following the Global Tech 1 project.
