Scotland's Emec to help set up wave and tidal centre in Japan

Experts from Scotland’s European Marine Energy Centre (Emec) will help to set up a first wave and tidal testing facility in Japan.

Under a newly-signed deal with the Ocean Energy Association of Japan (OEAJ), Emec will give “advice and support” on the design, set up and operation of the Japanese Marine Energy Centre.

The tie-up is seen as furthering the close working relationship already established between Scotland and Japan, which most recently saw Kawasaki Heavy Industries decide to test a new tidal turbine at Emec.
