The court in Puerto Montt granted three injunctions and suspended the HidroAysén dam project in Patagonia for at least three months while further hearings take place.
The injunctions contest the basis for approval of HidroAysén’s environmental impact assessment (EIA), which was granted in May.
The legal action was filed by members of the Patagonia Sin Represas (PSR) campaign group, which includes Greenpeace Chile.
