Edinburgh-based Pelamis will get £250,000 to build a remotely operated vehicle (ROV), which will make it quicker, easier and cheaper to manoeuvre its 180-metre ‘sea-snake’ wave-energy machines into their perches on the sea.
Bristol-based MCT will receive £150,000 to develop a smarter system for drilling into the sea the four foundation piles that hold each of its SeaGen tidal-energy devices in place.
