A cooperation deal between the two companies will see Lockheed Martin provide design, manufacturing, system integration and supply chain management input into the deployment of OPT's PowerBuoy unit.
The tie-up follows a $2.4m award from the US Department of Energy to OPT to fund development of its wave energy systems.
Construction of the 35-metre-tall flagship PB150 wave power machine for the project – sited in water depths of 45-73 metres some four kilometres off the Oregon coast – is now complete.
