Gamesa gets deeper into electric mobility with Toyota test deal

Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa has continued its push into electric mobility by signing a deal with Toyota to run tests on its Prius plug-in hybrid car.

Gamesa, which has adapted some of its manufacturing capacity in Spain to produce electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, will trial the Prius at a wind farm for six months.

The wind group says it will “test and verify the car’s technology, identify potential limiting factors and analyse its charging requirements in order to facilitate the mass market rollout of vehicles of this nature in Spain in the near term”.

Gamesa will share the data obtained during the test period with Toyota Spain in order to help the Movele initiative, which is coordinated by Log in to read complete article.
