NADB inks $220m loan funding with Duke for Texas wind farms

The North American Development Bank (NADB) has finalized an agreement for two $110m loans with Duke Energy Renewables for construction of the 200MW Los Vientos I and 202MW II wind farms in south Texas.

Both facilities are expected to reach full commercial operation by the end of this month.

Los Vientos I consists of 87 2.3MW Siemens wind turbines. CPS Energy , based in San Antonio and the largest US municipal utility, is purchasing all power under a 25-year agreement. This will help it reach a goal of generating 20% of its total capacity from renewable energy sources by 2020.
