UK renewables body calls on Cameron to 'get a grip' on policy

A renewables industry group has slammed the UK government’s apparent inability to halt policy rifts after the continuing refusal of the country’s energy minister to fall into line on wind power.

RenewableUK says comments by John Hayes on television in which he repeated his call for a halt to new onshore wind planning applications show a key figure in the government is still out of step with official policy.

Hayes caused a major row in the UK coalition government two weeks ago when he spoke out strongly against onshore wind in defiance of his boss, energy secretary Ed Davey.
