Wind,
solar
and
hydro
are
forecast
to
become
the
second
biggest
power
generators
in
2015
and
rise
to
almost
one-third
of
all
output
in
2035,
a
level
approaching
that
of
coal,
the
Paris-based
energy
watchdog
says
in
its
annual
outlook.
“The
rapid
increase
in
renewables
is
underpinned
by
falling
technology
costs,
rising
fossil-fuel
prices
and
carbon
prices,
but
mainly
by
continued
subsidies,”
says
IEA
executive
director
Maria
van
der
Hoeven.
