Nordex hit by late deliveries of wind towers and blades

German wind turbine manufacturer Nordex returned to profit in the third quarter of 2012 but squeezed its full-year earnings outlook because of a supply chain issue.

Nordex posted earnings before interest and tax (Ebit) of €15.4m ($19.5m) in the three months to September 30, ahead of €9.4m at the same stage last year.

The third quarter also saw a rebound from the €13.1bn Ebit loss it recorded at the half-year stage to June.

Quarterly sales were €294.4m, €29m up on the same stage last year, leaving the group with €715.5m of sales as it enters the last three months of the year.

Nordex still expects sales of €1bn-1.1bn for the whole of 2012.
