Dong and GE join EU renewables-plus-gas lobbying group

The group is backed by EU Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger

A new alliance of five leading renewables and gas companies has been launched in Brussels to support a push for an integrated European energy policy for 2030 and beyond.

The Energy Partnership, which is being backed by the European Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger, comprises GE, Dong Energy, Alpine Energy, First Solar, and Shell.

It aims to create a common pathway for the two industries towards low-carbon and cost-efficient energy in the region.

Oettinger says the European Union needs new binding goals on renewables and on cutting carbon emissions, to replace green policy targets that expire in 2020.
