Under-fire Davey claims UK is 'listening' to power reform fears

The UK government today offered more details on key elements of its proposed power market reforms, as it came under mounting pressure to reassure potential investors in major renewables projects.

Secretary of state Ed Davey claims his Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) has “listened to concerns" as it prepares to next month unveil amended legislation detailing its plans.

Davey acknowledged the need to avoid a “hiatus in investment” before the reforms are enacted, and is looking at what “comfort might be given to keep investments on track for project developers looking to make progress over the next 15 months or so”.
