PV group Konarka's German operation files for bankruptcy

Konarka Technologies, a developer of flexible, transparent PV cells, has filed for bankruptcy at the Nuremberg District Court in Germany.

The German company says it has been forced to take the step as its US parent group, also called Konarka Technologies, is undergoing liquidation proceedings under Chapter 7 of the US Bankruptcy Code

Attorney Alexander Kubusch has been appointed as preliminary insolvency administrator of the German unit, which has 11 permanent staff on its payroll.
