Congressman Dave Reichert is that rare thing in American politics: a Republican in full-throated support of wind energy.

Reichert, running for his fifth term in the House of Representatives from Washington state’s eighth congressional district — newly expanded to include 463MW of installed wind capacity — introduced legislation last autumn to extend the expiring wind-energy production tax credit (PTC) for four years, earning him one of 16 USA Wind Jobs Champion awards from the American Wind Energy Association.
