UK and Norway pledge closer renewables ties in energy pact

The UK and Norway have pledged closer co-operation on renewables projects as part of a wider energy pact between the two nations.

UK Prime Minister David Cameron and his Norwegian counterpart Jens Stoltenberg signed the "Energy Partnership for Sustainable Growth" agreement in Oslo today.

The two pointed to the huge Dogger Bank and Sheringham Shoal offshore wind projects as examples of significant Norwegian involvement in major UK clean energy initiatives.

The pact also lends support to power transmission projects linking the UK and Norway.
